Why it happens

A puppy bladder physically holds roughly its age in months in hours. Accidents are biology plus missed timing.

What works

Out after every sleep, meal, play burst and roughly every 1 to 2 hours awake.
Reward the act outdoors within 2 seconds, treat at the spot, not back inside at the door.
Clean accidents with enzymatic cleaner, ordinary detergents leave scent invitations.

What makes it worse

Never rub the nose in it or scold, the dog learns to hide peeing from you, hello behind-the-sofa puddles.
Do not free-roam an untrained puppy through the whole flat unsupervised.

Keep this in mind

Regressions around 4 to 6 months are textbook. Most dogs are reliable by 6 to 8 months, some honest souls take 12.
