Pawty is operated by Matej Mesko, Slovenia, who is the data controller for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Account. Email address, nickname, country, and a password. Passwords are handled and encrypted by our authentication provider Supabase. We never see or store readable passwords.
Dog profile. Name, breed, sex, age, and an optional photo you upload.
Training data. Session ratings, experience points, streaks, badges, equipment checklist, care calendar entries and food diary entries.
Approximate location. A coarse location, accurate to city or region rather than street, used to set your country flag on the leaderboard and to show the right merchants in the Marketplace. We do not collect or store precise location.
Your nickname, country flag, dog's name, dog photo and experience points appear on the in-app leaderboard, visible to other Pawty users. Everything else is private to your account.
We do not sell your personal data for money. We do not share your name, email address, dog profile, care calendar or food diary with advertisers or affiliate partners.
Where you have consented to personalised advertising, your device advertising identifier is shared with Google for that purpose. Under some laws outside the European Union, including in California, that sharing is treated as a sale or share of personal information. Withdrawing consent stops it.
Pawty shows banner advertising through Google AdMob. Where you consent, these adverts are personalised, which means they are selected based on your interests rather than shown at random.
How consent is collected. When you first open the app you are asked whether Pawty may use your data for personalised advertising. On iPhone you also see Apple's own App Tracking Transparency prompt asking whether Pawty may track you across other companies' apps and websites. Nothing is used for personalised advertising unless you agree to both.
What is used. If you consent, your device advertising identifier, which is the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) on iPhone and the Advertising ID on Android, is shared with Google and its advertising partners, together with approximate location and information about how you use the app. This identifier can be used to recognise your device across other apps and websites. It is not your name or your email address, and it can be reset by you at any time.
If you decline. You still see the same number of adverts. They are simply chosen at random rather than matched to you. No feature of Pawty is withheld for declining.
Withdrawing consent. You can change your mind at any time and it takes effect immediately.
Google acts as an independent controller for the advertising data it receives. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
The website you are reading now shows no adverts at all. Advertising exists only inside the mobile app.
The Marketplace page on pawtyapp.com loads the partner list directly from our database in Frankfurt when you open it. That request sends no personal data about you, sets no cookie, and stores nothing on your device. It reads a public list of retailers, the same list the app shows.
The Pawty Marketplace contains affiliate links to third party pet merchants, managed through the Awin network. If you tap one, the merchant and Awin may set a cookie in your browser to attribute a later purchase. We do not receive your name, address or payment details from these merchants, only aggregate reports of how many sales were attributed. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave Pawty. If you buy through one of these links, Pawty may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
We collect anonymous usage statistics, for example which screens are opened and how many training sessions are logged, via PostHog, hosted in the European Union. On this website PostHog is configured with in-memory storage only, which means it sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device between visits. These statistics cannot identify you.
Data is stored with Supabase in the European Union, in Frankfurt, Germany. Photos are stored as small resized images inside your account record.
Your account data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account it is removed immediately, and from backups within 30 days. Anonymous usage statistics are retained for up to 12 months.
Advertising data held by Google is retained under Google's own policies, not ours. Resetting or deleting your advertising identifier on your device breaks the link to any past advertising data.
You can update your profile in the app under More, then Account and profile.
To delete your account, open the app and go to More, then Account and profile, then Delete account. This removes your profile, dog, training history and photo permanently.
Users in the European Union have all rights provided by the GDPR, including access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability. To exercise any of these, or to request a copy of your data, email us. You also have the right to complain to the Slovenian Information Commissioner (Informacijski pooblaščenec).
Email a data requestPawty is intended for users aged 16 and over. There is nothing in the app that is unsuitable for a child, and the store rating reflects that. The limit exists because of the data and advertising side, not the content. If you are under 16, a parent or guardian should hold the account.
We will update this page when the policy changes and note the new effective date at the top.
